Dr Asaf Pirali, the founder and chairman of the School of Accounting and Management, has passed away.
It is with deep sorrow that the Pirali family announces the passing of Dr. Asaf Pirali. He departed this life on January 28th 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.

I would like to thank Dr. Asaf Pirali for his dedication towards providing tertiary education so that I can benefit today. It is with great sorrow that you have left but your legacy is truly inspiring. I will truly miss all your motivational speeches and words encouragement. You were truly a great leader and an icon to many. As I say farewell, I express my deepest condolences to your family and loved ones at this time.
I was truly saddened by Dr Asaf Pirali’s passing. My deepest condolences to Carol and the entire Pirali family. I have had the great privilege to have known Dr Pirali for over 20 years working together on two of the UK transnational partnerships with SAM. As the founder of SAM, Dr Pirali’s pioneering vision, incredible drive and firm commitment to quality education have made SAM a great success over the years, touched lives of so many people and transformed the educational landscape of Trinidad and beyond. On a more personal level, Asaf was not only an inspirational and great business partner but also a wonderful and true friend for over 20 years. I will always treasure the beautiful memories of spending time with him, Carol and the Pirali family during my many visits to SAM. As we celebrate Dr Pirali’s incredible life, his legacy will live on and he will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with Carol and the Pirali family at this very difficult time.

In addition to boldly proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is of paramount importance, Dr. Pirali lived a life which has invariably demonstrated the very epitome of a well-balanced picture of God’s will for his children.
To all those who knew him, or were privileged to be a part of his journey, it is without question that His love for God was no secret.
Similarly, Dr. Pirali’s passion for, and contribution in field of, education has undoubtedly contributed to the enrichment and enhancement of God’s creation here on earth, and in this regard, his memory will remain indelibly etched on the souls of those with whom he has touched, including myself. He will always be remembered as a pioneer in the field of education.
By the same token, many remain humbled by the legacy of love, commitment and wealth he has left behind to his family (Proverbs 13:22).
We can therefore boldly say, by the authority of the scriptures that Dr. Pirali has, not only traded his God-given talents well (Matthew 25:16), but has fulfilled the divine mission for which he was sent.
Dr. Pirali, we salute you for a job well done during your life on earth and may you hear the words of your Eternal Father saying unto you, ‘well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into my rest’.
May your soul rest in eternal peace!

There are some people you think they are going to be here with us forever…..When I heard of his passing I was like “what nah man”…He was a fantastic leader, teacher and a true inspiration to many of us.
I remember when I was just 17 and confused about the new chapter, someone directed us to SAMs. Mr. Pirali sat me me and my mom down and immediately began guiding and giving us such wonderful words of wisdom, that I now share with my nice and nephews today and that has helped me throughout my journey. There is always better he would say….”if you want it pray about it and tell God what you want and watch him it will happen”….Mr. Pirali has touched so many lives, and his legacy will live on in so many of us.

Dr Pirali was such a down to earth person. He gave me my first teaching opportunity at his school, where I lectured marketing courses for many years. He truly inspired and impacted the lives of countless students, staff and people all over Trinidad and the world. His daily radio program encouraged many over the airwaves. His legacy lives on.
